In Texas completing 14 hours of in-car behind-the-wheel driver education is mandatory for all Texas Teens under the age of 18. Our Texas Parent-Taught In-Car Behind-the-Wheel Only Teen Driver Education Course is designed for the Texas Teen, ages 15 to 18 years old, to complete the 14 hours of behind-the-wheel driving observation and practice lessons, and earn their Texas Provisional Driver License quickly and easily. A teen’s parent or guardian is their Texas-approved driving instructor. The parent registers with The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to become a parent-taught instructor and uses Online Driving Professor’s detailed lesson guides, instructions, and driving assessments to safely and easily teach their teen to drive.

A student can register for this course if they have earned their Texas Learner License and have finished, or are currently enrolled in, the 32 hours of Texas Driver Education Classroom with another driving school, their high school, or an online driver education provider.

What Does Online Driving Professor’s Texas Parent Taught In-Car Behind-the-Wheel Teen Driver Education Course Include?

This course is designed for the Texas Teen, ages 15 to 18 years old, to complete the Texas driver education requirement of completing 14 hours of behind-the-wheel driving observation and practice lessons. To register for the course, a Texas Teen must have:

• obtained their Texas Learner License, and completed, or is currently enrolled in, 32 hours of Texas Driver Education Classroom through their high school, a driving school, or another online driver education provider, and

• their parent must have applied to be a parent-instructor through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

Online Driving Professor provides detailed instructions, step-by-step lesson plans, and assessments for a parent-instructor to successfully teach their teen how to drive. After a student completes all 14 hours of parent-taught behind-the-wheel lessons, they are immediately emailed their Texas Driver Education Completion Certificate (DE-964) for completing either:

• 14 hours of Texas Behind-the-Wheel Observation and Practice Lessons if the Texas Teen has not finished the 32 hours of Texas Driver Education Classroom prior to registration, or

• 46 Hours of Texas Driver Education, including 32 hours of Texas Driver Education Classroom and 14 hours of Texas Behind-the-Wheel Observation and Practice Lessons if the Texas Teen has successfully completed 32 hours of Texas Driver Education Classroom (at their high school, driving school, or through online driver education provider) prior to registration.

This course is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
